Barking Learning Centre

They search for chances to create smart, enjoyable architecture. They have discussions with all parties involved, from clients to architects, to collaborators and users. They state that each member of their team holds an important role; however most of all they like working with people who share the belief that architecture can make positive, inspiring contribution to the world.

We liked this because we feel that as architecture is large part of our environmental psychology, having positive spaces and environments are a necessity.

All of their projects seem to be heavily based on aesthetics, making architecture that’ll make you say “ooh thats nice” and a selective use of color, making it easy to see where the focus lies.

Another cool company with architecture and ideology that I like.

>>OUR VIEWS<<

Rokhsana: Creating a balance between functionality and aesthetics can sometimes be very hard, however I feel AHMM have achieved this successfully and effortlessly. For example in the barking learning centre, the cantilevered balconys coloured in yellow adds to the aesthetics of the facade of the building and also shows the architects distinct style; simple yet effective. Their aims as a practise show through in the buildings.

Basma : “enjoyable architecture” … Alot of people tend to think architecture is mainly about typical shapes, specific regulations and accuracy. It is ! However, when an architect smartly adds fun to the building is what pushes him forward to success. I really like looking at AHMM’s building because of their color choices and their patterned shapes, it makes their building more inviting. I specifically like the layers and stacking of colors. I think it gives the space a “happy” and fun atmosphere, which makes me feel happy too.
