Research / Further minor improvements

I chose to stick to the new model.

During this week I worked on completely finalizing my mode. With the help of my tutor, we changed the roof design. Instead of having it as a mixture of multi-sized slabs of concrete and glazing , the shape of the roof goes from a high angle to a lower one starting from the classroom.

This roof will hence be a good support against rain, and the steel beams will support the concrete slabs.

We came to a conclusion that sections , plans of each level and collages would be one of the best ways to communicate what my design is about. Another effective way is to include the bus station with my model to show how the people of the site view the models that stand in my building’s balcony.

I’ve done a little research on spaces that relate to mine such as typical classrooms , windows and studio spaces. I came across a really interesting modern asian restaurant in Soho called Inamo. What I liked about the restaurant was their high-tech touch-screen tables. The table turns into a menu, a waiter caller, a game board, turns into the design and color of our choose all within a touch.

What if I made the second floor of my building a café/ restaurant and the table turned into trivia/ crossword etc games that include teaching people English and Colombian in a fun way? This would depend on the willingness of the person to learn the language.
